UTAH STATE FAIR 2008

Its that time of year once again....The Utah State Fair is one of our favorite things to do in the fall. Steve and I have enjoyed going to the different concerts and things since we have been married. We have seen several really good bands perform there. Now that we have kids our view of the Fair has changed dramatically. Its no longer for "US" its all about the kids and sharing in their joy of seeing the animals and doing the different activities that they have.

This year was really fun with all of the kids because they are all now big enough to truly enjoy all of it. One thing that they had this year that was really fun was this miniature "FARM" the kids had an absolute blast with this! Steve and I had fun helping the kids and watching them run from one area to the next.

We walked through out some of the different vendors and just really had a great time together as a family. After we did the little farm thing they had we went over and looked at the animals. First we went to the pigs (my favorite) they are so cute! As we were walking through all of a sudden I look over and there is a pig peeing on top of another pigs head!!! We all stopped and started laughing at this and what was even funnier is how the pig that was getting peed on didn't even move... it turned its head a little bit and closed its eye!!! Its just funny how animals just don't care about anything around them and they are so relaxed and don't even get up to move when peed on! Maybe we should all take a second look at how the animals are with each other and remember that even though we may get peed on life can only get better!!!

After the pigs we saw the cows and you would have thought that Kenli had died and gone to Heaven!!! She thought they were the neatest things ever! The entire time she was looking at them and walking through she was mooing! When the cows would moo back she would giggle and say they were talking to her!!!

It only got better from there because after the cows were the sheep and goats!!! Once again Kenli was baaing and naaing at the sheep and goats and they would talk back to her! Hayli started to do it too and it was fun to see the kids interacting with the animals like that. The next thing you know we kept hearing a baby goat and we kept looking to see if we could find them. We looked and looked and looked and never found were that little itty bitty sound was coming from. We heard it again... we stopped to listen to see if we could hear it again and sure enough we did... Hayli bent down closer to the gates and she hears it again...Hayli starts laughing and says MOM...I found the baby goat! I said were is it...she said its in the stroller...It was GRACIE making the baby goat noise! We all started to giggle in amazement of Gracie and her animal noise capabilities!!! It really did sound exactly like a baby goat! We got a great laugh out of that!

Its hard to believe how fast time goes by. One minute its just Steve and I and then 3 years later here comes Hayli! We did have to wait several....I mean SEVERAL years before we were blessed with our second child Kenli. What a blessing she was after 2 years of fertility...and wouldn't you know after 8 years of infertility trouble who would have guessed after we had Kenli we would be blessed with Gracie only 18 months later. Heavenly Father truly has a plan for all of us!!! I only mention that because of how much fun it has been going through different stages of going to the fair...First its the 2 of us...Then the 3 of us... and now the 4 of us!!! How I wouldn't change it for the world!!! I love my family so very much and am very grateful for this wonderful plan that Heavenly Father has in store for me and my family.

Did you go yesterday? We were there on Saturday. I liked the pigs, too, especially that HUGE one and then the mom with the babies.
Missed you at Val's last night. It was nice.
