NOW THAT WAS A CLOSE ONE!!!!!!

Lost part of her eyebrows...eyelashes...inside of the nose hairs & the front of her hair burnt
Synged Hair....
Burnt nose...the skin on and around the nostrils is blistered & the skin is falling off...its like a really bad sunburn.

Hayli wanted to cook dinner on the BBQ tonight so I went out and started it and she was going to put hamburgers on for us. When she went out to put the burgers on I guess it didn't stay lit so she pushed the ignite button again as she was lifting the lid and it exploded on her.

Hayli is one lucky little girl because one of the guys at the Fire Station has a friend that this exact same thing happened too...sadly he didn't have a good outcome. He was life flighted to the burn unit in Salt Lake City and now has massive burns on his face.

I know that Heavenly Father was watching over her and I am grateful to him for keeping her from being hurt worse than she did.

Hayli's first day of JR. HIGH...

Typical teenager...always texting
Our Hayli Bug all sorts of grown up
Mom....look how LONG my TIE is!
Hey at least in this picture she looks small....its only the angle YOU took it from MOM!!!! "quoted from HAYLI"

Hayli started Jr. High on Wednesday at the new Legacy Prep Secondary School. This is the same school she has been attending just the new Jr. High/High School. We went to back to school night and toured the new school and went and found all of her classes so she would be ready. The first day was great and she is happy to be back at school with all her friends and new friends to meet. Its hard to believe my first born baby is now in Jr. High School it doesn't seem like it has been that long ago that I myself was in Jr. High. How time flies by and now with my own children it seems to go even faster.

Hayli's new DO....

Before...
During....
Still working on getting them done....
After!!! Hayli's beautiful long hair =)

Hayli has been saving her money to get HAIR EXTENSIONS. She has made jewelry and done lots of chores around the house and for others. She also used the money she got from people for her Birthday. She was able to raise all of the money ($150.00) she needed to get them done and I'm so proud of her. Between the money she got for her Birthday and the money she earned she had a total of $180.00. She now realizes with hard work you can accomplish things you want.

Hayli & Amy getting finished with the hair.

Amy did a great job!!! Thanks a million for the hard work and the great deal on Hayli's hair =) Normal cost of the extensions would have been ($300.00 we got the cosmetologist discount since I do hair too) thank goodness :)

Happy Birthday STEVE & HAYLI

Back in August of 1997 Hayli was due the middle of the month and all Steve would say is that he wanted the baby to come on his Birthday. That is all he wanted and he said that would be his Birthday gift forever. Well at 1:21 am on August 24th he got his wish. Hayli Mikael Chaffin was born on his Birthday. Ever since then we have had a double Birthday for Steve & Hayli. They share their Birthday with each other and also Grandma Karen (my Dad's wife). How fun to have 3 people born on the same day. We love you so very much and hope you all had a very great Birthday.

Kenli's first day back to PRE-SCHOOL

Kenli walking out of school. She was so excited to be back to school this year :)

So Proud of what she did at school :) They made a ROBOT

Kenli loves school and could not wait till it started again. Through the whole summer she kept asking when school would start again. Her best friend Brookie is in her class. They played during the summer but I guess it just wasn't enough for the two of them. I'm just so happy Kenli loves school so much. What a great attitude she has already for school and I hope she keeps it up for years to come.

Missing my Grandma & Grandpa Mayne

Joseph & Ivy Mayne

I was doing laundry today and came across the nightgown that was my Grandma's. I love wearing this nightgown its so comfortable and reminds me so much of her. I miss my Grandma and Grandpa Mayne so very much. Growing up we had so much fun living just a house away. We went fishing together, camping, lots of Sunday dinners and just walking home from school and seeing them working in the yard. One thing I miss is listening to General Conference and Picking Apples...the occasional apple that would strike you in some way or another from Grandma giving it a little toss. Playing UNO at fish lake or any other fun place with them and being able to see Grandpa's cards in his glasses because they would be sliding down his nose. Grandma making HOMEMADE bread and how her house smelt when you would come over. (which I later learned was RHODES!) The many parties we would have that would end in a water fight and all would participate.

I just want to say how very much I love and miss my Grandma & Grandpa...I can't wait for the day that we will meet again. I love you and miss you please watch over my family and I while you are away from us. Love always!!!

Too BIG for her own BRITCHES...

Ya know it is really hard facing the fact that my little girl is growing up! Sadly so Hayli is now going into Jr. High and is now a TWEEN (that's what they call them now...the kids thinking they are a teenager...) LOL Hayli has really matured and I'm not quite sure I'm ready for this. Just for starters...."BOYS" are now looking at her UGHHHH We have a pass to our local REC CENTER and we go swimming nearly every day. Well its hard to see these cute little boys (thats what I will call them) ok... some teenagers too come up to her and tell her how CUTE she is and then they ask her to GO OUT!!!! WHAT THE HECK is that all about!!! She was all excited and came to tell me about it and I just nearly died!!! I AM SO NOT READY FOR THIS!!!! I asked Hayli what does it mean to "GO OUT" her answer back is... "MOM...ITS JUST A SAYING!" what does that mean..."WELL IF THEIR FRIENDS SAY SHE IS CUTE THEN THE OTHER GUY WILL SAY WE ARE GOING OUT" OK... so its just a status thing then? "YA MOM...DON'T YOU KNOW THAT?" NOPE I didn't but now I DO!!! In one week Hayli was asked out by 3 boys and dumped by one... ROTFL NICE!!! What do I do.... STEVE IS NOT AT ALL HAPPY ABOUT THIS AND IN FACT HIS EXACT WORDS WERE..."IF I WAS TO HAVE SEEN YOU TALKING TO A BOY I WOULD HAVE GONE OVER THERE AND ASKED HIM WHAT THE HELL HE THOUGHT HE WAS DOING TALKING TO MY DAUGHTER!!!" Have you ever heard of a condition called...O.P.F.S. OVER PROTECTIVE FATHER SYNDROME... Well now we have... I feel so bad for HAYLI and whatever BOY's ever take her out once she is 16... Only 4 more years until that day comes... Trust me we can wait!!! Here are a few pictures of Hayli and how she is becoming such a beauty...

24th of July with my MOM & my KIDO's

Well to start off this fun filled weekend Steve had to work AGAIN on the Holiday. Since Steve was working the Girls and I decided to go down and have a girls weekend with my MOM. We went down to her house in Orem and had a swim party & bar-b-q we ate pasta salad and steak, hamburgers, hot dogs & fresh fruit. It was all so yummy. We decided to go and see the fire works over in the PG/Cedar Hills area. On the way there we stopped to get an ice cream cone at the local ARCTIC CIRCLE heck we even got one for the DOG (Houston) he thought that was HEAVEN. It was so cute watching chow down on it I had to take a picture. Hayli took pictures of everyone eating their ICE CREAM too. The fireworks were so GOOD and we were really close. These fireworks aren't done by the city or anything like that. Its just a neighborhood that has gotten a bunch of them and they have lit them off for the past few years. After the fireworks we headed for a ride and decided to go up to SQUAW PEAK up PROVO CANYON and take a look at the valley lights. The view was so beautiful it took your breath away. While we were there we got to see a lightening storm go thru and then the rain hit us. It smelt so good the fresh rain and clean air all together. I love that so much :) We all had a great time swimming on Friday evening before the fireworks. On Saturday we went and did a little shopping for school clothes and then took another dip in the pool. All in All we had a great weekend with my Mom and my brother's and little sister. Thanks Mom for such a great time.

Fun in the SUN...

This week we decided to hit the pool as often as we could. So far we have gone 3 times in a row and are most likely going to go the next 2 days as well. The first day was great...no sunburns...the second day all of us got a little sunburn and on the third day NO sunburn. What I contribute this to is the fact that on the first day I had my normal sunscreen "NO AD 60 block" on the active ingredients I always look for the ingredient TITANIUM DIOXIDE the second day I was out and ended up getting some from the gas station to avoid having to make a trip to WALMART. Well we FRIED on the second day. I as debating on going today but decided to get more of the NORMAL sunscreen and would ya know....NO SUNBURN!!! I am sticking to my regular sunscreen. Hayli, Kenli & Gracie have never had sunburns because I have always used sunscreen that has had the titanium dioxide since Hayli was born. Its harder to find but WELL WORTH IT!!!

Kenli is becoming a good little floater in the pool and she is jumping off the sides and plugging her nose. Hayli is a good swimmer and the boys just keep on looking at her...not sure I'm ready for her to be MATURE...ugh!!! Gracie is not much of a water bug like the other two. She normally just clings to me the entire time with her arms around my neck. This year she has ventured off to holding onto my thumbs and bouncing in the water. HATES GETTING HER HEAD WET!!! But today...she was holding onto the side of the pool and bouncing... YAY!!! What a big step for her...by the end of the day she had even tried to put her head back into the water to get her hair wet. WAY TO GO GRACIE!!! I am so proud of my little ones they are truly wonderful blessings from my HEAVENLY FATHER and I thank Him so very much for them.

Hope you enjoy the pool pictures and videos. We sure have enjoyed going to the pool this summer.
